Isadora has enjoyed walking around Creekside Village 3 times per day for the past 7 years. Often her son comes along to join her and the changes in weather simply require wearing a warmer coat and donning a rain hat. Walking has always been a part of her life as she walked to school every day as a young student. A large part of the beauty of our community lies outside, with the fresh air, the abundance of trees, and the meandering sidewalks and paths. Besides getting exercise outside, Isadora regularly meets with other Creekside friends to play games in the second floor mezzanine, where we have a comfortable fireplace and a pleasant view to the lobby and the outside. Bingo is another fun activity and Isadora will play outside and inside – wherever the Activity Director here at Creekside plans to set it up the game. Residents at Creekside Village are grateful to live in a community surrounded by nature yet still close to urban amenities. |

A glimpse of life at Creekside from Eve “The ducks said hello to us today.” Eve moved to Creekside recently and today, on her daily walk with her two dogs, she met a special group of longtime residents of Creekside Village – our family of ducks! Residents, staff and visitors alike are all aware of just how popular these happy little creatures are in our wonderful community. “I’m so happy here; the grounds are beautiful, the food is great, and the community has welcomed me.” Moving in during the pandemic has not been easy, but Eve feels happy she was able to make the decision on her own, with support from her family. Transitioning from a multi-bedroom house to a one-bedroom apartment has left her with more time to plan her next painting design rather than thinking about what to make for dinner. Creekside Village takes care of many of her former responsibilities so residents can devote their time to relaxation, hobbies and friendships. While the pandemic has temporarily restricted group activities and outside visits from family, Eve looks on the bright side, something she says she has tried to do her entire life. Even with Covid-19 restrictions, Eve is happy to shed the burden of a house and enter the comfort of life at Creekside Village. It was the perfect choice for Eve, it could be for you, too. Call Creekside Village today to schedule a virtual tour. |

In 2012, Kathy realized she wanted to “get off the farm” and move to a smaller home where she could focus on enjoying her independence. Even though her apartment at Creekside is smaller than her 14-acre property, she and her sweet dog Jill feel right at home. Kathy is an Ambassador for Creekside and over the past several years she had helped many new residents learn everything there is to know about living here in our wonderful community. She has started many activities for her fellow residents, including a coloring group and “Hat Week” contests. Kathy is like most of us and knows that even though wearing a mask is not always comfortable, it is one of the best and easiest ways to stay safe. So, If you are looking for Kathy in the hallway or at dinner, she’s the one wearing the most colorful and unique hat and a matching mask! |

Paul moved here from an assisted living community in May of 2019, after he realized an independent community was what he really needed. He and his sister toured many communities in the Beaverton area and were most impressed by the fantastic food cooked by Creekside’s top-notch chefs! Immediately upon entering the building, Paul was met by friendly residents and a warm and welcoming staff. Prior to the pandemic, Paul associated with the other residents quite often by playing bingo, working on puzzles, and enjoying our many musical guests and performances. Our activities have now changed in order to say safe and socially distant, so Paul has stayed in his room a bit more than usual. He has, however, found several comical YouTube channels to watch and these videos are great conversation starters when greeting fellow residents and staff in the hallways and at dinner. If you see Paul, be sure to ask for his recommended channels! He definitely has his favorites. |
